FAQ
Q: What is home staging?
A: Home staging is a proven marketing technique that will make your home appeal to the broadest range of potential buyers.
Q: Why does home staging work?
A: Staging works because people buy homes based on emotions, not logic. When potential buyers tour an un-staged home they feel like a guest in the home. You want your home to be a place where potential buyers can easily envision themselves living which is achieved through staging.
Q: Why should I have my home staged?
A: Statistics show that a staged home will sell faster and for more money than a home that is not staged. The New York Village Voice reported that the average number of days on the market for a staged home was 14 days compared to 40 days for an un-staged home.
Q: How much will staging my home cost?
A: We offer a wide range of services to meet any budget. Most often, the cost of staging your home will be less than your first price reduction and many times a staged home will sell for more than the asking price.
Q: What can I expect from home staging?
A: Home staging services vary greatly because each home is unique. Home staging services can involve cleaning, de-cluttering, refreshing, neutralizing, arranging furniture to maximize the perceived space, making cosmetic repairs, and landscaping.
Q: Won't my realtor stage my home for me?
A: There are a few realtors that are trained to do home staging but most are not. A realtor is trained to appropriately price and sell your home, not to do staging. Some realtors are willing to absorb the expense of staging services.
Q: Can't I stage my home myself?
A: Most people have emotional attachments to their home and are not able to view their home objectively. Objectivity is crucial! A staging professional will have the ability to view your home through "buyer's eyes" and suggest or implement improvements that will give you the maximum return for your investment.
